Skinimalism Because Less Is More

The adage "The less is more" never goes out of style, right? The same is true for skincare—less is always more.

When we scroll through our Instagram feed, we all must have seen zillions of pictures, reels, and videos with a range of skincare products painstakingly filled in fancy cabinets and shelves. Having a thorough skincare regimen that includes the "it list" of products is a status symbol and a hot topic of conversation among beauty enthusiasts.

Nevertheless, now there has been a drastic change since the pandemic stuck. Today, the approach toward beauty goals has taken a big U-turn.

Previously, makeup held a prominent place in the beauty industry. But right after the pandemic, people started taking a Skinimalism routine. This is because they have become mindful and believe in sustainable beauty. As a result, this gave birth to skinimalism trend, a.k.a 'skinimalism,' which is a future trend. It is a preference that is being praised as the "new glow-up."

Now let's break down what skin minimalism is actually. So, instead of covering up your real skin texture with makeup, skinimalism emphasizes embracing it. Simply put, it means acknowledging your flaws as qualities and letting them shine. This also means simplifying your skincare routine and making it simple and raw without sacrificing the results.

Skinimalism skincare = Say Adios to the tedious and multi-step regime of routine and pyramid of products!

You must be wondering at this point, it is one thing to say and another thing to practice, right? And to start the skinimalism routine, you can choose hybrid products or one or two multipurpose products. Make sure to keep a consistent cleansing and moisturizing skincare practice.

Next, you can focus on a product that you require for your specific skin issues, such as acne, pimples, hyperpigmentation, or spots. In either case, you don't need five serums to get gorgeous, healthy skin. When purchasing products, search for a formulation or component combination that addresses several skin issues concurrently.

Like, you can pick a toner that treats acne scars as well as regulates excess sebum—breaking it down to let you know the process and everything about skinimalism products.

Cleanse it!: The foremost and primary step in any skincare is cleansing. It kicks off the dirt and wakes your skin up. It's crucial to select a cleanser for your skin type when you're buying. In case you have a dry skin type, go for cream based cleanser. Foam-based cleansers are preferable if you have oily skin or combo skin, though. It will clean your skin along with throwing excess sweat, oil, and dirt.

Perform this step twice each day. In the aftermath, gently cleanse your face with a wet cotton pad until it feels spotless.

Note: Never ever sleep with sweat or makeup on. It is an open invitation to ugly breakouts and reckless skin problems.

Exfoliate safely: At least twice a week, we all must scrub our faces to say goodbye to gunk and dead skin cells. But it is essential that you must be careful and not harsh as it could have an adverse impact on your skin.

If your skin type calls for dry, then get AHA's such as lactic acid or glycolic, and if your skin is prone to acne and has oil or combination skin type, then choose BHA's like salicylic acid to peel off dead skin.

The majority of people use serum along with this step. Nevertheless, if you don't have certain skin concerns, then you can absolutely skip this step. This is because serums are concentrated formulations for specific skin problems.

Soak it with moisturizer: None of us gives the right portion of hydration to our skin, but we all need all glowy, dewy, and lit skin. Water is essential for your skin, it works inside, but for the exterior, you need to get hydrators or a moisturizer as per your skin type.

You have to understand when you need a moisturizer and when you need a hydrator. Well, if the skin is thirsty and dehydrated, it needs a hydrator. However, if it is dry and feels the need for oil, then you have to apply moisturizer. You can also go for a skin care product that hydrates and moisturize your skin altogether.

Sunscreen is your soulmate: No skincare routine is worth it if you do not include sunscreen in it. Always pick a sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection, and ideally, it should at least have an SPF of more than 30. And ensure to apply sunscreens after every two hours to safeguard your skin from deterioration.

Note:  Wear safety clothing, and attempt to expose your body to the sun as little as possible.

All of this will only be effective and significantly impact if you are devoted to using solid skin care products, and don't get lazy and skip this practice.
